Perfume Shipping Notice from J&J Shop

Perfume Shipping Notice from J&J Shop

Hello everyone,
This is JY from J&J Shop.

We’d like to share an important update regarding the shipping of perfume products.

As many of you may know, perfumes contain ethanol, which makes them flammable and classified as hazardous materials. For this reason, they cannot be shipped by air.

Up until now, we’ve been using FedEx DG (Dangerous Goods) Cargo for perfume orders. However, this method has proven to be extremely expensive—sometimes costing three times more than the product itself—and even then, there have been cases where customs clearance was not guaranteed despite using FedEx.

After careful consideration, J&J has decided to ship all perfumes by sea.
This will be handled through the Korea Post’s international sea parcel service, which allows small individual shipments to many countries. While some countries do not accept this type of shipping at all, we’ve found this to be the most cost-effective and customs-friendly solution for the countries where it is available.

That said, please note that sea shipping takes approximately 2 to 3 months.
Just imagine: from Korea to the U.S., your parcel must cross the Pacific Ocean, wait offshore for docking approval at Long Beach Port (which sometimes takes weeks), and then be transported across the U.S. domestically. It’s a long journey, we know!

But the cost savings are significant.

So, for the sake of efficiency and safety, J&J Shop has officially chosen sea shipping as our standard method for perfumes. We kindly ask for your understanding.

If you're thinking, “2 to 3 months?! That’s unacceptable!” —
We do offer FedEx DG shipping as an alternative, but it will cost a minimum of $150.
Even then, customs clearance is not guaranteed, and we unfortunately cannot take responsibility if the item is rejected and returned.

Perfumes are complicated products, but we believe they’re worth the wait.
We ask for your trust and continued support of J&J Shop’s policy.

Here are approximate sea shipping fees based on recent orders (based on minimum weight unit of 1kg):

  • Germany: $27
  • USA: $23
  • Singapore: $26
  • UK: $27

Please note that these may vary slightly depending on the perfume size and any gifts included in your package.

Thank you for your attention and continued support!
 JY
